Hollywood actor Dennis Quaid recently opened up about his marriage to Laura Savoie. He said that it was the closest relationship ever and that life with her was pure paradise. The two met in 2019 at a business event, marrying just one year thereafter.
Quaid went on to explain that their values aligned, maturity lined up, and Christian faith tied them together quite quickly. At 71, reflecting on it, his relationship with Laura, 32, is more meaningful than any he has had before.
He stated that he loves her for her intelligence, strength of character, and emotional depth. The age difference never seems to make any connection odd, something Quaid has described as “natural” and “meant to be.”
How did they keep their wedding private?
The couple had planned a wedding in Hawaii but had to change plans due to COVID-19 restrictions. They eloped in Santa Barbara back in June of 2020, with only the pastor in attendance.
Quaid stated that the private setting was true to their values and strong Christian beliefs.
He later referred to Laura as “the most stunning bride” and deemed the ceremony as “perfectly intimate.”
The vow exchange was on the beach without the glare of Hollywood. The elopement was to kill two birds: a simple, faith-based view of marriage.
Does the 39-year age gap matter to them?
There is a 39-year age difference between Quaid and Savoie. This difference in ages very much entered the public spotlight of discussion.
Nevertheless, Quaid claims, “I don’t notice the age difference at all.” He then shared that their emotional connection is what gives a sense of balance and fulfilment to their relationship.
Laura’s doctorate in accounting brings a certain maturity and spiritual depth to the marriage. Quaid said, “The gap is something other people see, but we just see each other.”

Their shared Christian faith strengthens their bond
Both Dennis and Laura are serious practitioners of Christianity, praying together and attending church on Sundays.
Quaid says faith is perhaps one of the most important factors that makes their relationship work so well. He said that their faith has led them during their courtship, engagement, and marriage until today.
Quaid explains that they remain grounded in shared spirituality and long-term values. He called Laura a strong, faith-led woman who inspires his spiritual growth. Their beliefs in Christianity continued to inform decisions they made both in their personal life and careers.
The couple now works together through Bonniedale Films
In 2021, Quaid and Savoie very proudly launched the production company named Bonniedale Films. Their company focused on family-friendly, faith-based storytelling with purpose and values.
Laura is integral in the operations supporting all projects, both creatively and from a logistical standpoint. They divide their time between Los Angeles and Nashville, balancing industry work with quiet home life.
Quaid stated that working together has made their relationship even stronger. Referring to their shared vision, he described it as “a new chapter built on love and faith.”

He also has three children- Jack, Thomas, and Zoe-from other relationships. Quaid now says this marriage to Laura is “the one that will last.”
According to him, age, experience, and faith are what have enabled him to find lasting love.

A love story built on faith, not age
Dennis and Laura have created a relationship that a lot of people doubted could survive.
They met in 2019; they were married in June of 2020 in a very quiet elopement in Santa Barbara instead of flaunting a Hollywood-style wedding.
According to him, in spite of the 39-year age gap, their love feels grounded, very real, and stronger than ever. Their shared faith in Christianity forms a spiritual anchor to guide their lives.
Having become partners in business and life, they share aspirations that outlast Hollywood expectations. Quaid continues to call their life together “paradise” and “the biggest blessing” he has ever had.
